Consult Maritime LLC provides inspection of underwater structure, confined, and inaccessible areas using remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and remote inspection techniques (RIT). These methods enable safe and efficient inspection of underwater and confined spaces without diver intervention, scaffolding, or operational delays
Underwater & Remote Inspections
Underwater inspections using ROV and Remote Inspections Techniques
Overview
ROV and remote inspection techniques are applied to evaluate the condition of underwater, confined, and restricted-access structures, enabling visual inspection, thickness measurement, and condition verification without diver intervention or confined space entry, with findings documented in a structured format suitable for owners, charterers, insurers, and technical managers.
Underwater Inspection using ROV
Consult Maritime LLC provide advanced remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to perform high-resolution underwater visual inspections of vessels and structures. These inspections provide safe, efficient, and comprehensive assessment capability without the need for diver intervention.
Scope of Services
Underwater hull inspection.
Cathodic protection (CP) system verification
Inspection of sea chests, thrusters, propellers, rudders, and appendages
Close visual inspection (CVI) in restricted or hazardous environments
Integrated Thickness Measurement (Cygnus UTM)
Our ROVs are equipped for precise thickness measurements using ultrasonic sound technology. Thickness measurement by ROV is essential for assessing corrosion and verifying structural integrity of ship hulls, offshore structures, and pipelines.
Accurate readings through coatings and marine growth
Real-time data for maintenance and repair decisions
Supports life assessment and structural integrity evaluation
By combining visual inspection and thickness measurement in a single deployment, we reduce downtime, cost, and operational risk while delivering audit-grade inspection data.
ROV inspections combine visual inspection and structural measurement in a single deployment, reducing downtime, cost, and operational risk while delivering class quality reporting

Remote Inspection Techniques (RIT)
Remote Inspection Techniques (RIT) are applied to access confined, elevated, and hazardous areas using portable and remotely deployed inspection systems. These methods enable visual inspection, thickness measurement, and structural assessment either by ROV or telescopic pole without scaffolding, rope access, or confined space entry, improving safety and inspection efficiency.
Telescopic inspection systems enable direct contact measurement and high‑resolution visual inspection from ground level or safe working positions, including ultrasonic thickness measurement with A‑scan validation, eliminating the need for staging or personnel entry.
Remote inspection techniques are applied to ballast tanks, cargo holds, void spaces, and elevated structures, enabling close‑up inspection, thickness measurement, and visual documentation without confined space entry.
These methods reduce reliance on scaffolding and rope access, improve safety by minimizing personnel exposure, and provide more efficient inspection with increased accuracy, reduced downtime, and lower overall costs.
