Flag State Inspection
The Flag State Inspection Program was created with the goal of assisting ship owners and operators with the safe operation of their vessels and to reduce the number of deficiencies and detentions received during Port State Control inspections
Flag State Inspections are carried out by approved Flag State Inspectors and include verification of statutory certificates and a general examination of the vessel's structure, machinery, equipment, and manning as well as operational testing of fire fighting equipment, life-saving appliances and safety equipment, they usually include the performance and assessment of abandon ship and fire drills.
During Flag State inspections, the safety management system, security and MLC audits, as well as statutory certificates endorsements can be verified.
We are authorized Flag State Inspectors on behalf of Transport Malta to carry out Flag State Inspections and Pre-Registration Inspections covering the East Coast of the United States of America and Canada.
