Ayman Alakkawi, MSc., CEng.

Maritime Safety Expert

Being in the maritime industry as a Mechanical / Marine Engineer for over 20 years, with ample experience and skills in all aspects related to Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Maritime Safety Inspections, Risk & Project Management, Maritime Education, and Training, I have transcended in providing maritime consultancy services to my clients in different parts of the world.

My perpetual passion for comprehending the underlying operation and maintenance of Container Vessels, Oil, and Chemical Tankers, and Bulk Carriers, paved me the path to becoming a Chief Engineer who is continually involved with inspecting commercial ships, identifying root causes of marine engineering failures related to pleasure boating, oceangoing, inland & offshore sectors.

Not being restricted merely to consultancy and engineering, I took the initial turn in my career life, as a Senior Maritime Lecturer at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, in the year 2012; and subsequently as an assistant professor at State University of New York - Maritime College in charge of the Maritime Operation - Engine USCG unlimited license, then a director for the LNG Center of Excellence.

Being in academia for nearly 8 years, I gained profound proficiency in inculcating the theoretical knowledge into practical experience in the maritime industry, as and when problematic situations arise, and accurately understanding the fundamental operational aspects.

With the years of experience, education, and training in the industry, I developed a passion for practical engineering solutions, and I was able to earn reputation, integrity, and the leadership to deal with the daily operation of commercial vessels.
